Gates County is a friendly rural community of approximately 11,000 people located in northeast North Carolina.  Gates County Public Schools employs over 300 full-time employees and is the largest employer in the county.  Gates County Public Schools, with a student population of just over 1600, has three elementary schools, one middle school, one high school and an alternative school.  Our mission is to develop an education environment which prepares students for success in a changing world.   We are proud of our schools and pride ourselves on the sense of family that exists in our school system.
