Renaissance Place is a software program for students in Kindergarten to 12th grade.  It was created by Renaissance Learning and is used for monitoring the practice of reading and math.  Students at Gatesville Elementary take the STAR Reading test in August, January, and May to obtain their Accelerated Reading level.  The reading level is then used to create a reading goal (what we call their AR goal) for the students.  Students in first through fifth grade use their August reading level for their first and second nine weeks AR goal.  They then use their January reading level for their third and fourth nine weeks AR goal.  Kindergarten students also participate in the program as their teacher finds them ready throughout the year.
